Well here we are finally grabbing a spare moment to surf the net!
We are currently staying in a large hostel in Prague, having spent a week in the Czech Republic and having travelled south to a small, old town called Czesky Krumlov.
Czesky Krumlov has to be the cutest little town ever! with a sea of orange roofed buildings, windy roads and cobbled streets...
We stayed with some of Luke's friends, Sarah and Kate (two kiwi chicks who run a small hostel in the town) It was a great little place with friendly guests and we felt really at home there.
Getting out of Prague was a bit of a relief in a way, i think we all prefer a small country town to a big city. Although Prague was a very interesting place to visit. Lots of history and some really amazing buildings.
At Krumlov we took a long bike-ride around the outskirts of the town, probably about 15 miles. We cycled north into the country side and south to the next town. We went on castle walks and saw two brown bears which were living in the castle moat.
Staying at Krumlov house gave us the oppertunity to speak to fellow back-packers/travellers, we met some really cool people and decided to hang out, go out for a traditional Czech dinner and go on a tour of the Eggerberg brewery which was very interesting.
There we tasted a yeast beer. The yeast beer had'nt been fully pasteurised/filtered and the Czech's believe that it tastes a lot better this way--- they are right, it was great!!
Beer over here is cheaper than mineral water!! - about a pound a pint! EVERYWHERE!! so as you can imagine, most Czech's are alcoholics without even breaking the bank!
So anyway i gotta fly, gonna catch a couple of beers at the hostel bar, get a relatively early night before tour starts tomorrow!
Next stop ---POLAND!! xx
