Sunday evening flew by as we sat outside to have a barbie!...still strange to me having a bbq in early December!! but great fun! I also tried my first Mussel!!....they were handpicked by Bex a couple of days ago from the Bluff. It tasted a bit salty but it slipped down nicely!!
On monday we took the car to Trounsen park. Its a big forest with loads of wildlife and a nice walk, we then drove down to the lakes and dabbled our feet in the clear water. It was like stepping into a warm bath! just idyllic! We then went to a golf course by the coast with Andy and Troy. It was fun watching the boys compete with each other and the golf course was just amazing! Matt got a bit sunburnt though, silly boy! After a day of golf we came home and relaxed.
We were up early this morning and out for lunch with Jenni and her friends. It was fun to suprise Ruth (we are pretty good at these suprises now!!) We ate Tai food, which was really nice and then took a walk around Dargaville town. I think it looks a bit like a film set to be honest. All the buildings are wooden and parts of it remind me of the wild west! Its quite hot and dry at the moment.
Today we booked a flight down to Christchurch in the South Island. We leave tomorrow morning and will pick up our hire car and begin our roadtrip. Hoping to go to Queenstown and Abel Tasman national park where we are planning to do our Skydive!!....wish us luck!!
